Miguel asked me for a work to give as a very special gift. It was a spot in San Vicente de O Grove, in Galicia, a place to which the person who was to receive the work returned year after year, saying: “This is where I am reborn.” I lavished care on the sculpture, stone by stone, and on the luminous contrasts of the water, and evoked the emotion of that return… And that is how “Renacer” was born.
