Maru called me because she had fallen in love with one of my works… She told me she needed a work that would evoke her longing for personal transformation, something that would be less a work than a totem, reminding her of her unique heartbeat, her power and her strength. Together we carefully chose the textures and the desert-sand tones, the palette of greens and terracottas, and from there “El Corazón de Maru” was born.
