Laura was a tireless adventurer; she told me she had travelled half the world diving. On one dive in the middle of a storm, with the sea raging, the expedition instructor said to them just before they jumped from the boat: “See you in a better world.” And the moment she entered the water she was overcome by the most absolute calm, and by a sense of fullness she had never felt before as she gazed into the darkness of the depths. She wanted to evoke that free spirit in her new adventure as a mother, in which she could no longer travel so fearlessly, and so I created “See You In a Better World” for her.
